BIO
Marisa Gómez-Galindo got her Degree in Veterinary Medicine at the Faculty of Veterinary Science at the University of Murcia (Spain). During that period, she was an internal student at the Animal’s Health Department, specifically in the group of Infectious Diseases for four years. She obtained a National Collaboration and an International Movility Grant (Becas Santander Iberoamérica). Once she finalized her degree studies, she obtained an internship to work in IBEROGEN ESTUDIOS AMBIENTALES S.L, Elche, Alicante (Spain). She got a MSc in Teacher Training for Compulsory Secondary Education, Upper Secondary Education, Vocational Training, and Language Teaching. She is a Ph.D. student in the research group on Microbiology and Quality of Fruits and Vegetables at the Food Science & Technology Department at CEBAS-CSIC institute in Murcia with Ana Allende as her director and Pilar Truchado as her co-director. She combines her research work at CEBAS-CSIC, with the teaching activities of Laboratory and Practical classes in the Department of Food Science & Technology Department in the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences of the University of Murcia.
RESEARCH INTEREST
Her Ph.D. is focused on Listeria monocytogenes and the risks it poses to the fresh-cut industry. Her research is centered on the study of post-process anti-listeria treatments as preventive and intervention strategies to improve food hygiene through the entire production chain of fresh-cut fruits and vegetables.
